Privacy Program (PIPEDA) Training Sessions

Privacy Program Essentials

The one (1) day Privacy Program Essentials Session is targeted for organizations who need to understand both the big picture of what PIPEDA is, as well as the details of what's inside it.  Includes front end discussions on the overall structure, followed by specific education on the requirements for each of the sections of CAN/CSA-Q830-03 (Model Code for the Protection of Personal Information).  The group will be divided into teams and they will complete workshop exercises on each section to reinforce learning and understanding of all the requirements within the legislation.

Privacy Program Executive Overview

The one to three hour Privacy Program Executive Overview provides executives, managers and supervisors with the essentials on what's critical for a Privacy Program, what the PIPEDA Legislation is all about (Personal Information Protection and Electronics Document Act), what it's intent and purpose is, how it can be used as a tool for "managing risk" in terms of compliance to legislation, how it impacts the role of management/supervision, and how PIPEDA can be used to support good business practices.  This is an excellent session for anyone who needs a high level, big picture look at what's all involved with a Privacy Program.

Privacy Program Orientation

The one to three hour Privacy Program Orientation Program provides frontline personnel help on understanding the basics of what PIPEDA is about, learn what it is trying to do, how it can affect their job and to discover ways to use it as a "tool" to get their tasks done!  This is an excellent session for anyone who wants to gain a basic understanding of what's in PIPEDA and how it affects what they do. 

Privacy Program Internal Process Auditing

The two (2) day Privacy Program Internal Process Auditing (also covers requirements in ISO 19011:2002) is focused on a process approach to auditing with the objective being not only to assess conformance to this management system, but also to uncover process improvements during an audit.  This goes hand in hand with the process auditing requirements found within ISO 19011:2002 and the process approach covered in CAN/CSA-Q830-03 (Model Code for the Protection of Personal Information).  An enhanced checklist is developed, and there will be workshops throughout, to reinforce learning, as well as a live, practice audit.  If you are looking to meet your  internal audit requirements and to “raise the bar” for your internal audit program then this is the course you should consider.

Privacy Program Documentation Development

The two (2) day Privacy Program Documentation Development Session is intended to assist organizations in developing either new  privacy program compliance documentation, or to renovate and revise existing documents.  The focus will be on how to develop a simplified and streamlined system, that helps to manage and control the collection and management of personal information in your business, and to close any gaps identified.
